Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi will miss the next match against Inter after being sent off in the loss to Bologna earlier today.
As highlighted by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 33-year-old Italian defender received two yellow cards back-to-back in the 3-0 loss to the Rossoblu this afternoon, both of which were due to his protests regarding referee Davide Massa’s decision.
Acerbi did not take the news well and continued expressing his anger as he walked off the pitch, in a scene emblematic of the frustrations surrounding Lazio’s disappointing performance in the loss to Bologna.
This red card means that Acerbi is suspended for the next match against Simone Inzaghi’s Inter on 16th October, after the international break.
The 33-year-old Acerbi, who is contracted to Lazio until 2023, has started all nine games across all competitions so far this season under coach Maurizio Sarri, being a core part of the defence.
