Cataldi Admits “It Was a Bad Day” for Lazio Following 3-0 Defeat to Bologna

Lazio midfielder Danilo Cataldi expressed disappointment with the team’s lethargic 3-0 loss to Bologna earlier today.

Speaking to Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24) after the game, the 27-year-old Italian midfielder discussed the loss to the Rossoblu.

It’s hard to explain, we didn’t take to the pitch. We conceded a goal immediately and we were not able to create dangers for Bologna, who were very tight at the back.

Now we reset, it was a bad day, now with this break we will work on this consistency that we lack.

The Lazio midfielder did not want to use the excuse that the team were tired as a result of the match’s scheduling. The Roman club faced Lokomotiv Moscow on Thursday night.

The squad is well, we train well during the week. It becomes an excuse to play close matches, we made a mistake and we have to admit it.

Now we have to work even better, away from home we are not able to impose ourselves.

When we come back from the break we have an important match and we will prepare for it as best we can.

Lazio’s Confidence Shaken in Lethargic 3-0 Loss to Bologna

He touched on the negative energies in the squad during the defeat at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

When you lose 3-0 and a situation happens, it can happen. I told the referee to understand the game a little bit more, since we were 3-0 down and as ten, I asked for a little bit of consideration.

But let’s not get hung up on that, now let’s focus on Inter.

The Italian midfielder highlighted some of the difficulties that plagued the squad during the match against Bologna.

We kept more of the ball because they sat very deep and we never managed to break through. The pitch wasn’t the best, it was dry and the ball didn’t travel.

This led us to be predictable and not very dangerous, in these situations we have to find other solutions.

De Silvestri Celebrates After Bologna’s 3-0 Win vs Lazio, “Definitely Very Happy”

Finally, Cataldi noted the importance of club captain Ciro Immobile, who was absent from the game after suffering a muscle injury in the Europa League win on Thursday.

Ciro is fundamental for us, the numbers speak for him. We lacked the attack of depth to stretch the team.

Vedat gave his all, now we hope to get him back for the match against Inter that becomes fundamental for us.

Lazio will need to train hard during the international break if they are to restore confidence after the painful defeat to Bologna earlier today.

The Biancocelesti’s next game of the season is against Simone Inzaghi’s Inter on 16th October, after the upcoming international break.
