Sarri’s first meeting with Mihajlovic came in the 2014/15 season, when the Italian was in charge of Empoli. The Tuscan side lost 1-0 to Mihajlovic’s Sampdoria. The second meeting that season was a little better, ending 0-0.

The following season, Sarri’s Napoli beat Mihajlovic’s AC Milan 4-0 away, before drawing 1-1 with the Rossoblu at home.

Since then, Sarri hasn’t lost to Mihajlovic, winning the last five consecutive games against the Serbian coach, with a highlight being Napoli’s 5-0 win over Torino in the 2016/17 campaign.

Mihajlovic’s position as Bologna coach is currently hanging in the balance and tomorrow’s match against Lazio may be the decisive game regarding his future.
