Lazio Coach Sarri Has Only Ever Lost to Bologna Coach Mihajlovic Once Before

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has only ever lost to Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic once before in his career.

As highlighted by stats portal Transfermarkt, the 62-year-old Italian coach has faced the 52-year-old Serbian coach on nine different occasions, winning six times, drawing twice and losing only once.

Sarri’s first meeting with Mihajlovic came in the 2014/15 season, when the Italian was in charge of Empoli. The Tuscan side lost 1-0 to Mihajlovic’s Sampdoria. The second meeting that season was a little better, ending 0-0.

The following season, Sarri’s Napoli beat Mihajlovic’s AC Milan 4-0 away, before drawing 1-1 with the Rossoblu at home.

Since then, Sarri hasn’t lost to Mihajlovic, winning the last five consecutive games against the Serbian coach, with a highlight being Napoli’s 5-0 win over Torino in the 2016/17 campaign.

Mihajlovic’s position as Bologna coach is currently hanging in the balance and tomorrow’s match against Lazio may be the decisive game regarding his future.
