Lotito Disappointed in Backup Striker Muriqi Following Lazio’s Loss to Bologna

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is very disappointed in backup striker Vedat Muriqi following his poor performance against Bologna.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti president is one of the many disappointed in the 27-year-old Kosovan forward, who failed to impose himself in the 3-0 loss to the Rossoblu yesterday afternoon.

Muriqi made his first start of the season following star striker Ciro Immobile’s thigh muscle injury, but he did little to prove himself as he struggled to make an impact in the match.

The decision to chose him over Felipe Caicedo to be Immobile’s backup is not paying off yet and any comparisons with the Ecuadorian striker do not reflect well upon the Kosovan.

Lotito expected more from the 27-year-old Muriqi and the €20 million investment made has certainly not been justified yet.

Lazio are hoping that Muriqi can turn things around this season under coach Maurizio Sarri, but patience is beginning to run out in the Italian capital.
