The team’s doctors will carry out further tests over the coming hours and days to try and determine the seriousness of the issue, but he is now not expected to feature in the next game against Uruguay on Monday.

Regardless, Lautaro is expected to miss Inter’s next league game against Lazio on 16th October, unless he is released early by Argentina.

His national team are set to face Peru on the evening of the 14th of October, meaning that he would not have the time to return and immediately face the Biancocelesti in Rome.

The 24-year-old Lautaro has started the season well under coach Simone Inzaghi, scoring five goals in his first six Serie A appearances.
