Lazio midfielder Danilo Cataldi is increasingly convincing coach Maurizio Sarri of his qualities.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Italian midfielder has already played for 229 minutes on the pitch so far this season across the opening seven fixtures, proving his abilities to the 62-year-old Italian coach.

Last season Cataldi seemed to be on the fringes of previous coach Simone Inzaghi’s project, playing only 641 minutes across all competitions that campaign for Lazio.
Under Sarri, however, Cataldi is managing to carve out an important role in the squad, overtaking Gonzalo Escalante in the midfield pecking order.

The 27-year-old Italian midfielder is now hoping to start challenging for Brazilian veteran Lucas Leiva’s spot in the starting eleven, but is still content proving himself a reliable backup for now.
Cataldi, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, is a life-long fan of Lazio and has been with the club since he was a little boy.
