Lazio Considering Signing Expiring Sassuolo Goalkeeper Consigli Next Summer

Lazio are interested in signing Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli on a free transfer next summer.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Biancocelesti have two goalkeepers with contracts expiring next summer and so they are working on lining up possible replacements, should renewals not be agreed upon.

Whilst Pepe Reina’s deal will automatically extend for a year should Lazio qualify for European competition, Strakosha’s contract is much more in doubt, with negotiations still ongoing.

The Roman club have identified the 34-year-old Consigli as a possible option to shore up the position next summer.

The Italian veteran’s contract expires with Sassuolo next year and so he’ll be available to sign on a free transfer. The player is an experienced and reliable shot-stopper who is good with the ball at his feet.
