Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic doesn’t want to reflect on his failed move to Lazio in the summer.

Speaking in an interview with German newspaper Bild (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 28-year-old Serbian winger commented on the collapsed talks between the German and Italian clubs in the summer transfer window this year.

No need to go back over what happened, I had promised the fans that I would play with commitment and do my best for the club. Despite everything.

I don’t want to look at what happened in the past months, my goal is to think about the future.

Lazio were incredibly keen to sign the 28-year-old Kostic, making him one of their top transfer targets as he was deemed perfect for coach Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system.

The Biancocelesti agreed to personal terms with the Serbian winger part-way through the summer but failed to iron out an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt, with talks dragging on for weeks and weeks.

As the end of the transfer window approached, talks between the two clubs collapsed, with reports suggesting that Lazio sent their offer to the wrong email address, although ultimately it also seemed as if the German club had no intention of letting Kostic leave.
