Sarri May Not Risk Starting Immobile in Lazio vs Inter Following Thigh Injury

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri may decide not to risk starting Ciro Immobile in the upcoming match against Inter.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker completed his first full training yesterday and has two days to get back to full fitness, following his thigh muscle injury.

Sarri is concerned about exacerbating the injury and so may decide not to risk starting Immobile in Lazio’s upcoming match against Inter, although he could still come off the bench in the second half.

The 62-year-old Italian coach would then deploy a false nine with either Pedro or Felipe Anderson, with Vedat Muriqi likely to remain benched as well.

Immobile, meanwhile, is incredibly keen to face off against his former coach and mentor Simone Inzaghi, and so is working hard to try and reach full fitness in time for the game.

The 31-year-old Immobile has scored six goals in six league games so far this campaign.
