Despite Inter’s Federico Dimarco remaining on the floor, Lazio continued to play, ultimately scoring a second goal in the 81st minute to give themselves a 2-1 lead.
Lucas Leiva has fouled the Italian wing-back, however, referee Massimiliano Irrati gave the Nerazzurri the advantage. Lautaro Martinez continued to carry the ball forward and managed to get a shot off, however, it was saved by Pepe Reina.
The goalkeeper then threw the ball down the right flank to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic on the right flank, as he saw there was an opportunity to counter. He played the ball forward to Felipe Anderson, who then played a through ball over Milan Skriniar to Ciro Immobile.
The Italian striker worked his magic inside the box and got off a left-footed shot; while it was saved by Samir Handanovic, the rebound was finished off by the Brazilian winger, who was then attacked by nearly every member of the Inter starting eleven.
This reaction was unnecessary for two reasons. Inter continued on the advantage first and Dimarco did not have a head injury. Therefore, Lazio were not obliged to put the ball out of play.
