Primavera Right-Back Floriani Mussolini Called up for Lazio vs Hellas Verona

Lazio youngster Romano Floriani Mussolini has been called up for today’s match against Hellas Verona.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero last night, Floriani Mussolini has received his first-ever call-up for the Biancocelesti first team, with coach Maurizio Sarri wanting more options in defence due to the suspensions to Francesco Acerbi and Luiz Felipe.

The 18-year-old Italian right-back has chosen to wear the shirt number 44 and he will be hoping to feature for at least a few minutes against Hellas Verona this afternoon.

Floriani Mussolini has made six Primavera 2 appearances so far this season for the Lazio Primavera squad, for a total of 528 minutes.

In that time, he has provided one assist and proved himself to be a capable right-back, flourishing more in a defensive role.

He is the son of former politician Alessandra Mussolini and the great-grandson of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

The 18-year-old has previously stated that he has no interest in politics and does not want his surname to define him.
