Hellas Verona coach Igor Tudor was in high spirits after the impressive 4-1 win over Lazio this afternoon.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN (via LazioNews24) after the game, the Croatian coach first commented on if his team were afraid of dropping points after going into the break 2-0 up, something that happened in the previous match against AC Milan.

At half-time we talked about the comeback we suffered against AC Milan, saying that it couldn’t happen today.

I have to congratulate the lads, they did everything I asked of them, even when Lazio came back in the second half.

He spoke about Hellas Verona’s attitude in the 4-1 win over Lazio and how the squad always look to play in this fashion.

We always try to play the same way, we must always play at a thousand regardless of the result. These are our characteristics.

We don’t want to change anything, but then it depends on the moments of the match. I’m happy with that today, we kept the same attitude even with Lazio under pressure.

We must always push until the end.

Finally, Tudor spoke highly of Argentinian forward Giovanni Simeone, who scored all four of the Gialloblu’s goals in the win.

I’m very happy with Simeone’s performance, he played a complete game that I haven’t seen in a long time.

A lot of stuff, the guys want to play and work hard. I’m happy that their quality is coming out. We have to continue on this path and grow, that’s the key.

Hellas Verona’s win means that they are now 11th in the Serie A table after nine games, with 11 points.

The Veneto based side have successfully managed to distance themselves from the bottom three, with 18th place Genoa sat on only six points.

Lazio will have to pick themselves back up ahead of their next game against Fiorentina on Wednesday next week.
