Pedro Overjoyed After Lazio’s 1-0 Win vs Fiorentina, “Happy to Help the Team”

By Apollo Heyes -

Lazio winger Pedro was very pleased with the team’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina last night.

Speaking first in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24) after the game, the 34-year-old Spanish winger commented on the match against the Viola.

Very nice play, I’m happy to have helped the team with a goal. We had to get the three points, we got them, now we have to continue like this.

At home we are going very strong, away we suffer and we have to improve this.

I don’t know if it’s mentality or attitude, we all talked about it together, as a group, with the coach. This is what we are doing every day, this team is very strong.

The Lazio winger looked ahead to the next match against Atalanta this weekend.

All games are difficult, but we know that in Bergamo it will be difficult, the way they play.

We have to work these two or three days and play a good game as Lazio if we want to move on.

He reflected upon the performance in the win against Fiorentina yesterday.

Fiorentina are a good team, they play well, they are having a good season and we knew it wouldn’t be easy.

Let’s work like this even in away matches, there is a very strong mentality here and we can improve.

Pedro then discussed his goal against Fiorentina in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN.

I scored a golazo, happy to help the team, we had to take the three points and we took them.

He touched on his interaction with third-choice goalkeeper Marius Adamonis.

Adamonis told me he would have saved my shot, I saw the goal and tried to shoot and it went well, I always want to help the team, scoring for a forward is always important.

The 34-year-old Spanish winger commented on which of his feet he prefers.

I’m right-footed but I always try with my left as well, we had a great game and a great win.

The former Chelsea man discussed the strength of this Lazio squad.

I think we are a very strong group, a very good team to work with, we have to understand the coach’s idea to improve but we have very good qualities.

Finally, Pedro spoke about his interactions with a few Fiorentina players following the final whistle.

I exchanged the jersey with Odriozola and I also said goodbye to Callejon, they are two very good guys and we are friends.

The 34-year-old Pedro, who is contracted to Lazio until 2023, has scored two goals and provided one assist in 10 Serie A appearances so far this season.
