Lazio striker Ciro Immobile’s goal against Atalanta has seen him draw level with Silvio Piola’s all-time club goal record.

As highlighted by LazioNews24 earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker netted his 159th career goal for the Biancocelesti in the 2-1 win over the Nerazzurri earlier this afternoon, an important milestone for the club’s talismanic forward.

Immobile will now be looking to break Lazio’s all-time goalscorer record in the club’s next game against Salernitana next weekend.

The 31-year-old Immobile, who is contracted to Lazio until 2026, has scored his 159 goals in 232 appearances for the club across the last five years, consistently being the reference point in the squad.

The Italian striker won the European Golden Boot at the end of the 2019/20 season, having netted 36 Serie A goals in 37 games.

The former Torino man has adapted well to coach Maurizio Sarri’s system and is looking to achieve a fourth capocannoniere title this season.
