Lazio goalkeeper Pepe Reina was hit by an object thrown by an Atalanta fan in today’s 2-2 draw.
As noted by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 39-year-old Spanish goalkeeper was hit in the head by a small object during the dying minutes of the match at the Gewiss Stadium earlier today, falling to the ground and rubbing his head.
The first object that was thrown on the pitch was a roll of adhesive tape, which the Spanish veteran removed from the pitch, before a coin struck him.
Many are now expecting some action from Lega Serie A, who more than likely noted the incident immediately.
Lazio’s afternoon soured even further, with Atalanta’s Marten de Roon scoring a 94th minute equaliser to steal away two points from the Roman club’s tightly gripped hands.
