Inter Re-Ignite Interest in Lazio Full-Back Lazzari as Inzaghi Is Unsatisfied With Dumfries

Inter are still interested in signing Lazio full-back Manuel Lazzari, with coach Simone Inzaghi not happy with Denzel Dumfries.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 45-year-old Italian coach has not been impressed with the Dutch fullback, who is struggling to adapt to the wing-back role in a 3-5-2 system.

Meeting Between Lazio President Lotito & Coach Sarri to Take Place Soon

In January, Inzaghi would be overjoyed to be reunited with Lazzari, a player perfect for his counterattacking 3-5-2 system.

The Italian full-back would have no problem accepting the move, especially considering his preference to play as a wing-back rather than a full-back in a back four.

Lazio value Lazzari at around €18-20 million and would like to cash in for that amount. Inter, should they decide to sign him, could decide to include Dumfries in a deal in order to lower the cash cost.

The Dutchman was brought from PSV for around €12 million in the summer, the same amount that the Nerazzurri would be willing to put on the table for Lazzari, in addition to including Dumfries.

An interesting idea, but first coach Maurizio Sarri’s thoughts need to be heard. If he doesn’t give his approval then nothing will go ahead.
