Lazio Planning Award Ceremony for Star Striker Immobile Following Goal Record

Lazio are planning an award ceremony for talisman striker Ciro Immobile following his record-matching goal against Atalanta.

As reported baby Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker scored his 159th goal for the Biancocelesti in the 2-2 draw against Atalanta on Saturday, a goal that saw him tie Silvio Piola’s all-time club top scorer record.

Celebrations were partially spoiled by Atalanta’s late equaliser, but Lazio are planning to host an award ceremony at the Stadio Olimpico to celebrate Immobile’s achievement.

This ceremony could even be held on Sunday ahead of the match against Salernitana, a game that could see Immobile score his record-breaking 160th goal for the club.

The 31-year-old Italian striker is also thinking about celebrating with his teammates like he did when he won the European Golden Boot when he gave everyone a shrine containing a special jersey with a little message attached.
