Ciro Immobile Again Trained Separately, Likely to Miss Olympique Marseille vs Lazio

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile again trained alone today, making it likely that he will miss tomorrow’s match against Olympique Marseille.

As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker missed the start of the squad training session this morning in Formello, before emerging a little later with a bandage on his left knee.

Immobile now seems set to miss tomorrow’s Europa League clash against Olympique Marseille, a crucial clash for Lazio as they look to qualify for the Round of 16.

In addition to his knee issue, the 31-year-old Italian striker is also suffering from nausea and other flu-like symptoms, although he is free of a fever.

Coach Maurizio Sarri may be forced to leave Immobile on the sidelines tomorrow, although he’ll be hoping that the talismanic forward will be fit enough to face Salernitana this weekend.

Immobile has scored nine goals in 10 Serie A appearances so far this season, but he has been less prolific in Europe, failing to score in three Europa League appearances.
