Lazio president Claudio Lotito has no doubts about which club he will support in the upcoming match against Salernitana.
Speaking in an interview with Italian newspaper La Citta yesterday, the Biancocelesti president first refused to give any details regarding the sale of the Campania-based side.
I don’t want to talk, because a sale is underway with modalities established by the FIGC and I must continue to remain extraneous to the affair, as the rules dictate.
Let’s say that I’m sorry for so many words that have erased everything that has been done for Salernitana that now, among other things, play in Serie A.
I haven’t been back to the city since June. They have forgotten the good things I put in Salernitana, certainly by many the name of Claudio Lotito has been written in the book of bad guys.
But I’m going on my way.
Until proven otherwise, I am the president of Lazio and, therefore, there is no doubt that on Sunday I will support the team I own in the match at the Olimpico. I will be supporting Lazio, even if they took Salernitana away from me…
Lotito purchased Salernitana in the summer of 2011 and kept the club alive, with the team restarting in Serie D.
The FIGC’s latest rules make it illegal for Lotito to own two professional clubs in the same division, so he has until the end of this year to sell the club.
