Zaccagni Completed Squad Training & Could Feature in Lazio vs Salernitana

Lazio midfielder Mattia Zaccagni returned to squad training today and could face Salernitana on Sunday.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder has recovered from his sprained right knee injury – although he was still wearing a bandage today – and completed today’s squad training session in Formello.

There is hope that Zaccagni will now be fit enough to play in Lazio’s next match against Salernitana on Sunday, their final game ahead of the international break.

The former Hellas Verona midfielder has had a tough start to life in Rome, suffering from a hamstring injury less than a month after signing for the club, which forced him to miss four games.

This latest injury has kept Zaccagni sidelined for five matches, and coach Maurizio Sarri is hoping to have him back as soon as possible in order to allow some rotations up front.

Zaccagni took part in the whole session today, starting with the warm-up, then the athletic tests, ball possession and the small matches on a half-pitch. He also scored a goal in these after his penalty kick was saved by Marius Adamonis.
