Luiz Felipe Notes There’s “No Obvious Victories” Ahead of Lazio vs Salernitana

Lazio defender Luiz Felipe was looking forward to facing his former side Salernitana this evening.

Speaking in an interview in the official match programme (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) yesterday, the 24-year-old Brazilian defender looked ahead to this evening’s match against the Campania-based side.

We’re facing a difficult match because there are no obvious victories in Serie A, but we’re playing at home and we want to win.

We’re 100% focused. At Salernitana I grew a lot, it was my first year in Italy. I learned a lot about Italian football from coach Sannino.

When a Brazilian arrives in Italy at the beginning he always struggles, but he helped me from the beginning.

Serie A Preview: Lazio Hoping to Extend Unbeaten Streak Against Salernitana

The Lazio defender then commented on his growth and his desire to score more goals.

I’m growing game after game, but I still have to improve a lot. I’m doing well, I have to continue like this.

I also think I can score more goals, the last one I scored against Juventus at home in December 2019, then they took away the one against Borussia Dortmund last year!

We train a lot on dead ball situations, they are important.

Finally, Luiz Felipe gave his thoughts on talismanic striker Ciro Immobile, who scored his 160th goal for the club in the 2-2 draw against Olympique Marseille earlier this week.

Ciro has always scored a lot, since his first year at Lazio. I’m happy that he’s beaten the goal-scoring record of a legend like Silvio Piola.

I hope I can help him set many more records.

Lazio’s Probable Starting Lineup vs Salernitana: Sarri to Make Minimal Rotations

The 24-year-old Luiz Felipe, who is contracted to Lazio until next year in 2022, has made nine Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 797 minutes. In that time, he has helped the side keep one clean sheet.

The former Salernitana defender picked up the first red card of his career earlier this season, after celebrating with Inter striker Joaquin Correa following the full-time whistle of Lazio’s 3-1 win over the Nerazzurri.
