Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi was positive following the team’s 3-0 win vs Salernitana yesterday.
Speaking to Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24) yesterday, the 33-year-old Italian defender first commented on the strong performance of Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto in the match against Salernitana.
Luis Alberto is really strong. On determination and grit I’ve seen him like this very few times.
He really is an added value for us.
Acerbi then looked ahead to Lazio’s next matches after this international break.
We had to win and convince. After the first five minutes we did very well. Ditto in the second half.
Now there’s some rest, then we’ll load up for Juve, because there will be an important tour de force. It will be fundamental to understand who we really are.
In the big matches, however, it’s difficult to make a mistake in our approach. We need determination with all the teams.
The 33-year-old Acerbi, who is contracted to Lazio until 2025, has made 10 Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 886 minutes.
In that time, he has provided one assist and helped the side keep two clean sheets, continuing his strong performances under coach Maurizio Sarri.
Lazio’s 3-0 win over Salernitana yesterday means that they are now 5th in the Serie A table after 12 games, sitting on 21 points. They are one point behind 4th place Atalanta.
After the international break, Lazio will face Juventus before travelling to Russia to face Lokomotiv Moscow in the Europa League.
