Lazio are looking to agree to a five-year contract renewal with defender Luiz Felipe in the coming weeks.

As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb yesterday, the 24-year-old Brazilian defender’s contract is set to expire with the Biancocelesti next year in 2022, requiring a renewal to be agreed upon before the end of the season.

In order to avoid the temptations of the bigger teams, Lazio want to agree on the five-year contract renewal with Luiz Felipe in the coming weeks, long before the start of the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old centre-back currently earns around €650,000 net per season and this is set to increase significantly in the new deal, which will tie him to the club until 2026.

Spanish side Real Betis are one of the many clubs interested in signing Luiz Felipe but he is considered a key part of coach Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio squad, so they have no interest in losing the player.
