Lazio’s Claudio Lotito Helped Mend Rift Between Coach Sarri & Luis Alberto

Lazio president Claudio Lotito met with coach Maurizio Sarri and Luis Alberto recently to help improve their relationship.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 29-year-old Spaniard had a slow start to life under the 62-year-old Italian coach this campaign, and he found himself starting on the bench for multiple games in a row.

This situation did not look good and it was clear that there were some issues between Luis Alberto and Sarri, something Lotito wanted to resolve as soon as possible.

When Lazio were called into the training retreat following the defeat to Hellas Verona, Lotito met with the pair in Formello and tried to help them see eye to eye.

It was clearly a success, as Luis Alberto has been back to his best in recent matches, finally finding his rhythm in Sarri’s system. Lotito did not want to take credit for this, however, saying:

I didn’t do anything to Luis Alberto, he is intelligent, he knows what he has to do and he is earning his place by respecting the rules.
