Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi Was Satisfactory in Italy’s 1-1 Draw vs Switzerland

Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi played the full 90 minutes in Italy’s 1-1 draw with Switzerland last night.

As collected by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 33-year-old Italian defender was given a decent rating by the Italian press, being one of the better performers in an otherwise lacklustre Azzurri side yesterday.

Acerbi was given a 6 rating by Corriere dello Sport and a 5.5 rating by Gazzetta dello Sport, highlighting his satisfactory performance.

The Lazio defender was called in to replace the injured Giorgio Chiellini, something that he also did during this summer’s successful Euro 2020 campaign.

Italy’s draw against Switzerland last night means that both teams are now tied on points at the top of the table going into their final 2022 World Cup qualifier.

Italy will play Northern Ireland on Monday whilst the Swiss will host Bulgaria. The winner of the group directly qualifies to the tournament whilst the second place team has to win a playoff.
