Lazio duo Thomas Strakosha and Elseid Hysaj were helpless in Albania’s 5-0 loss to England yesterday.
As highlighted by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the pair could did little but watch on as Gareth Southgate’s side confidently stormed to 5-0 thrashing over Edy Reja’s team, with all five goals coming in the first half.
Both the Lazio players played the full 90 minutes in the match, working hard but failing to help change the result.
Albania sit third in their 2022 World Cup qualifying group after nine games, with 15 points. They are five points behind second place Poland and so will not qualify for the tournament.
The 26-year-old Strakosha‘s contract expires with Lazio next year in 2022 and the club are keen for a renewal, but talks have been slow and pen hasn’t been put to paper yet.
