Lazio Looking to Speed up Contract Renewal Talks With Expiring Defender Luiz Felipe

Lazio want to speed up their talks with Luiz Felipe regarding his contract renewal.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 24-year-old Brazilian defender’s contract expires with the club next year in 2022 and so the Biancocelesti want to secure a renewal before the upcoming January Transfer Window.

President Claudio Lotito stopped all contract renewal talks earlier this season due to the poor performances but has now restarted things following the team’s upswing in form.

Luiz Felipe currently earns €650,000 net per season at Lazio and this will increase in his new deal. Exploratory talks with his entourage have already started and will heat up over the coming days and weeks.

Inter and Juventus are especially keen on signing Luiz Felipe on a free transfer next year and so a renewal must be agreed before the January Transfer Window.

The Brazilian defender has made it clear that he wants to stay in the capital and the club are working on a contract that will last until June 2026 and will see him earn €1.3 million net per season plus add-ons.
