Lazio full back Adam Marusic has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now in self-isolation.
As announced by the Montenegro Football Federation last night, the 29-year-old Biancocelesti full back tested positive in the latest round of tests and was forced to miss the match against the Netherlands, already being in isolation.
Marusic now risks missing out on Lazio’s next Serie A match against Juventus, which will take place on 20th November in Rome. He will undergo more tests as next week progresses in the hope that he can return in time.
The 29-year-old is the second player from the Montenegrin national team to test positive for Covid-19, with Stevan Jovetic testing positive first.
Marusic, who is contracted to Lazio until next year in 2022, has made 11 Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 837 minutes. In that time, he has adapted well to coach Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system and has competed with Manuel Lazzari for a starting spot.
