Lazio’s Training Retreat Had a Clear Impact on Performance: The Numbers

Lazio’s decision to put the squad into a training retreat was a smart one, with its impact proving valuable.

Since their retreat, Lazio beat Fiorentina 1-0 and Salernitana 3-0, and also performed well in their draws against Atalanta 2-2 and Olympique Marseille 2-2.

Picking up seven points in these three games has been important for coach Maurizio Sarri‘s side, who risked dropping out of the top four race if their inconsistent results continued.

The squad’s mentality has also changed, adapting better to Sarri’s system and fighting with all their might for longer than before.

Lazio will be hoping that their strong form continues in the next game against Juventus on Saturday, a key clash as the squad look to prove their newfound consistency.
