Lazio Hoping to Recover Lazzari in Time for Upcoming Match vs Juventus

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri hopes to recover full-back Manuel Lazzari in time for the match against Juventus.

As detailed by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Italian full-back suffered a calf injury in the 2-2 draw with Olympique Marseille at the start of this month and has been on the sidelines since.

Lazzari is on the road to recovery and there is optimism that he’ll be fit enough to feature in Lazio’s next game against Juventus on Saturday.

The return of the former SPAL full-back would be key for Sarri, who currently only has one full-back available currently in Elseid Hysaj, as Adam Marusic is currently in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.

If Lazzari is not fit in time, then Sarri will have to use either Stefan Radu or Patric as the right back in his four-man defence.

Lazzari has made 13 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 703 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and begun adapting to Sarri’s system.
