Lazio president Claudio Lotito is furious with the Azzurri’s medical team following Ciro Immobile’s injury.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti president is incredibly angry with the Italian national team’s medical staff, believing that they mishandled star striker Immobile, who had to withdraw from the camp with a calf injury.

Last week Lotito had a detailed meeting with Immobile in Formello, wanting the Lazio star to explain in full what happened and how he was treated.

Lazio‘s medical team say that Immobile has been managing pain in his knee for some time but in the match against Salernitana, he did not suffer a calf injury.

It is unclear if Immobile hid the problem in order to be a part of the Azzurri squad or if it came up during training.

The 31-year-old Italian striker wants to be on the bench at least in the upcoming match against Juventus but the doctors do not think he is ready to play yet.
