Pedro Thinks Lazio Have “A Very Important Team” & Expects “Difficult Match” vs Juventus

Lazio winger Pedro expressed his joy at being a part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad ahead of the match against Juventus.

Speaking in an interview for the official match programme (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 34-year-old Spanish winger first commented on the kind of match he expects against the Bianconeri this afternoon.

It will be a difficult match against a strong team, I expect a tough challenge.

We have prepared for it well during these two weeks, we must try to get three points that would be very important for us.

He spoke about how he feels in the Lazio environment now that he’s settled in.

It’s been a pleasant surprise.

I get on well with all my teammates, both on and off the pitch and I’m very happy about that.

Pedro then commented on various teammates and their qualities.

I knew practically everyone before I got here. This year there is Cataldi who is doing very well, he has a good technique and is fundamental for us.

There are many others like Immobile, Felipe Anderson, Luis Alberto, Milinkovic-Savic and Luiz Felipe.

We have a very important team that has the potential to do well. I am happy with this because we are always working to move forward.

The 34-year-old Spanish winger gave his thoughts on coach Maurizio Sarri, who was a deciding factor in his decision to join the Biancocelesti.

I’ve known the coach for a long time, with his staff I work well on a tactical and technical level, he always has clear ideas on what to do with or without the ball.

He loves to defend high and the team is working and understanding his idea of the game.

We’re talking about a great coach, a top coach, and also a good person.

I’m lucky enough to know him from my time at Chelsea and I’m trying to make the most of that time to do better and better.

Finally, Pedro remembered Barcelona’s Champions League final against Juventus back in 2015.

I remember with great pleasure that day, when we won the last Champions League in Barcelona’s history.

I entered in the final and a few seconds later I managed to serve Neymar the 3-1 ball. It was a beautiful moment.

The 34-year-old Pedro, who is contracted to Lazio until 2023, has made 12 Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 906 minutes. In that time, he has scored four goals and provided two assists.
