Struggling Forward Muriqi to Lazio Fan: “Your Pirate Is Already Dead Mentally”

Lazio forward Vedat Muriqi expressed his frustrations yesterday following the team’s 2-0 loss to Juventus.

Coach Maurizio Sarri decided to start Pedro as a false nine against the Biancocelesti, instead of trusting in the 27-year-old Kosovan forward, to replace the absent Ciro Immobile.

This is not a huge surprise, considering that Muriqi has only played 228 minutes for Lazio across all competitions so far this season, hardly being given a chance to impress.

The Kosovan forward played 25 minutes against Juventus yesterday and missed a key chance in the 79th minute. After the game, a Lazio fan tried to cheer him up a little on Twitter by pointing out that the decision to leave Muriqi on the bench and start Pedro hadn’t worked.

Muriqi responded to this supportive tweet, saying (via Twitter):

Thanks for always being by my side brother, your pirate is already dead (mentally).

The 27-year-old Muriqi seems destined to leave the Biancocelesti in the upcoming January Transfer Window, with coach Sarri looking for a new backup striker.
