Zaccagni Recognises Lazio “Lacked Precision in the Final Third” in 2-0 Loss to Juventus

Lazio midfielder Mattia Zaccagni highlighted the importance of Ciro Immobile following the 2-0 loss to Juventus.

Speaking first in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN (via LazioNews24) after the game, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder commented on the defeat to the Bianconeri.

We missed Immobile, the match was decided by the moments, we tried to play our game, we lacked precision in the final third.

In the first half I felt very good, in the second half I dropped a bit physically and I suffered. I need the minutes to reach 100%.

Zaccagni then discussed Lazio’s loss to Juventus in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio.

Ciro is fundamental for this team, in my opinion we played a very good match. We shot well, we lacked something in the final phase.

He touched on why the team didn’t take a lot of long shots in the game.

We should have tried to find them, but they were very good at not allowing us to take shots from distance, we should have been quicker in passing the ball around.

The 26-year-old Italian midfielder spoke about the packed schedule ahead of the Biancocelesti.

There are many games to play and manage the group’s energy, today I felt pretty good, in the second half I dropped a bit but I’m happy to have put minutes in my legs.

I give myself two or three games to get back to 100%, today I didn’t have ninety minutes in my legs, but I have to work to reach the goal.

He commented on the mindset the team needs to adopt after the defeat.

We have to stay positive, convinced that we had a good game and work game after game.

Finally, Zaccagni spoke about the strengths of Juventus in the match.

When they changed formation we knew it right away, but we had prepared the match in one way and another.

They closed well and we struggled to find space.

The 26-year-old Zaccagni, who joined Lazio on transfer deadline day in the summer, has made seven appearances so far this season for the Biancocelesti across all competitions, for a total of 302 minutes. In that time, he has struggled to find consistent fitness.
