Lazio’s Marusic Hoping to Return to Action Soon After Testing Positive for COVID-19

Lazio full-back Adam Marusic will undergo another Covid-19 test today as he looks to return to action.

As reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 29-year-old Montenegrin full-back tested positive in his last round of tests last week but he is hoping that today’s test will finally return a negative result.

Marusic tested positive for Covid-19 nine days ago and he is hoping that he will be able to return in time for Lazio‘s upcoming league match against Napoli.

The Montenegrin full-back is currently self-isolating in Rome and so even with a negative result, it is unlikely that he will feature in the next match against Lokomotiv Moscow on Thursday, considering his lack of training in the last 10 days.

Marusic, who is contracted to Lazio until 2022, has made 14 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1007 minutes. In that time, he has performed well under coach Maurizio Sarri.
