Acerbi Expects Lazio “Will Have to Be Careful” in Away Match vs Lokomotiv Moscow

Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is feeling positive heading into tomorrow’s Europa League match against Lokomotiv Moscow.

Speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 33-year-old Italian defender first discussed his physical condition ahead of tomorrow’s away game.

I’m pretty good, I always try to keep myself as strong as possible, physically and mentally between rest and everything.

You always try to give your best, as the coach says there are ups and downs when you’re a little more tired, but you try to stay on the ball and do something extra to recover quickly.

Acerbi touched on how well the Lazio squad have adapted to coach Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system so far.

Since we started we are making very good steps forward, we are still working, some things are going well, others are to be tested, the details especially that make the difference in the game.

Sometimes we need to be on the ball more, we are giving everything, but maybe it’s not enough. On certain things, the details, we are a bit careless, against strong teams it penalises us.

We need an examination of conscience on our part, we tell ourselves that we have to be more careful. But we are at a very good point.

The 33-year-old Italian defender touched on the incredibly tight schedule, with the players featuring every three to four days usually.

They made a statistic, there is an average of 75 games a year, for 50 games we play every three days.

Some people want to reduce the teams in Serie A, something is being tried for the good of everyone. Something is being tried, it’s a lot of competitions.

The former Sassuolo man revealed some of his personal goals for this season and beyond.

To always be at the top, to always prove myself. To improve my value, to prove to others and to myself that I can still grow.

I want to do that, I want to learn. It keeps me on the ball. For tomorrow is such an important game, we definitely need to bring home the three points.

Decisive Day for Injured Lazio Star Immobile as He Aims to Play vs Lokomotiv Moscow

Finally, Acerbi discussed tomorrow’s opponents Lokomotiv Moscow and the Europa League group.

A difficult group, all complicated matches, you make the trip to Russia, it’s as difficult as all of them.

It’s normal that we’ll have a game in which we will have to be careful, they’re a very good organised team, they play at home.

All competitions in Europe are difficult, we will have to be careful, play our game and bring home an important result like a win.

The 33-year-old Acerbi, who is contracted to Lazio until 2025, has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1336 minutes. In that time, he has provided two assists and helped the side keep four clean sheets.
