Adekanye Recovering From Injury, “My Goal Is to Play Minutes With Lazio Again”

Lazio winger Bobby Adekanye is incredibly keen to return to the pitch and impress following a long period out.

Speaking in a video posted on his Instagram page yesterday, the 22-year-old Dutch winger first discussed his current physical condition and work in training.

Because I know that the quality I have is to be at a high level and, of course, talent is not enough.

Everybody is doing it, that’s why they are there. So if you don’t do it, you get left behind and you get eaten.

Now, every time I finish training, I feel very good, very sharp and hopefully the pain and fear won’t come back and I can go back to the pitch again, enjoying myself and fulfilling many dreams that I still have in my mind.

Adekanye then touched on his goals and objectives with Lazio this season.

One on one, I like to take on the opponent, create chances, score goals, make assists.

But right now my dream and my goal is to play minutes with Lazio again and fight to be an important player there, to make the most of my minutes, that’s my goal for me.

He remembered his first goal with the Roman club, back in the 2019/20 season.

When I arrived in Rome, my first goal… it’s something I can’t even explain. The whole stadium started chanting my name and the messages I received that day too, it was incredible.

I will never forget that day and I have to give it back.

The 22-year-old Dutch winger discussed his relationship with his agent Junior Minguella.

I met him when I was 12 years old and we are still together. He helped me a lot, not only him, but also his whole family. He’s one of the most important people in my life. He has helped me in everything.

Always telling me the truth, not always telling me the things I want to hear. I can only thank him for everything and I hope we will be together forever and that we can celebrate many achievements together.

Finally, Adekanye spoke about his career so far and how it has helped him to grow.

I am very happy and proud to have taken all the paths because it has really brought me a lot of positive things.

As a player it has helped me mature earlier than other players at my age. I am very proud of the decisions I have made and I have no regrets at all.

The 22-year-old Adekanye, who is contracted to Lazio until 2023, has made 15 first team appearances for the club since signing in July 2019.

He spent last season on loan with Spanish side Cadiz first before joining Den Haag in the January transfer window on loan, where he scored two goals in 14 appearances.
