Lazio star Ciro Immobile was in good spirits following his brace in the 3-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow last night.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia (via LazioNews24) last night, the 31-year-old Italian striker first commented on his physical condition following his recent left calf injury.
The calf responded well, let’s say it was a good test after 19 days sidelined, the coach decided to spare me rightly the last minutes and did well.
The choice to play was discussed and together we decided it was the right thing to do.
I know my body well, three or four days ago I didn’t have positive feelings, the calf gives you this kind of feelings but then I calmed down and I decided to play.

Immobile then commented on his brace against Lokomotiv Moscow and the importance its holds for the team’s path in the competition.
I was happy to be unblocked in Europe in Marseille. The brace today served to unlock everything on a difficult pitch with suboptimal weather conditions for us.
The numbers are important but, as I always say, the credit goes to my teammates who put me in a position to score.
Finally, Immobile discussed his relationship with Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri.
I’m happy with the consideration that the coach has for me, he always says it during interviews and this makes me very happy.
Lazio Considering Three Defenders in Preparation for January Transfer Window
The 31-year-old Immobile, who is contracted to Lazio until 2026, has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1304 minutes. In that time, he has scored 13 goals and provided two assists, being the clear star of the Biancocelesti squad.
Lazio’s next match is their toughest yet, away to Napoli on Sunday. Sarri and the squad will be hoping to steal all three points in Campania as they look to stay in the race for a top-four finish.
