Lazio Looking to Win Away to Napoli for the First Time in Six Years

Lazio have not won away to Napoli since 2015 but they are hoping to change that this evening.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Biancocelesti’s last win in Naples came in 2015, when Stefano Pioli’s Biancocelesti won 4-2. Since then they’ve drawn once and lost six times, including once in the Coppa Italia.

Something that could make the difference today are the former Napoli figures now in the Lazio environment, starting with coach Maurizio Sarri, who oversaw 148 Partenopei games.

On the pitch will be Pepe Reina and Elseid Hysaj, who made 182 and 223 appearances for Napoli respectively.

It also cannot be forgotten that in 2016 star striker Ciro Immobile, who grew up in Torre Annunziata, was only a step away from joining Napoli before Aurelio De Laurentiis decided not to pull the trigger on a deal.

Napoli currently sit top of the league table after 13 games, sitting on 32 points.
