Referee Daniele Orsato and his team officiated well in Lazio’s 4-0 loss to Napoli last night.
As detailed by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 46-year-old Veneto-born referee maintained a good level of fairness in the match, giving a sufficient number of bookings to both teams in order to maintain order.
Orsato made no egregious errors in Lazio’s loss to Napoli last night, although there was a chance that Patric‘s yellow card was a little harsh. The topic is refereeing in Italian football is often a heated and combative debate, but the 46-year-old referee left little room for interpretation in his officiating yesterday.
Orsato is one of Italy’s more senior referees and regularly oversees matches in the Champions League and other top competitions. He was in charge of Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain last week, as well as three matches in Euro 2020 this summer, such as England’s win over Croatia.
