Pedro Substituted off With Knee Injury in Lazio’s 4-0 Loss to Napoli

Lazio winger Pedro suffered a knee injury in last night’s painful 4-0 defeat to Napoli.

As noted by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 last night, the 34-year-old Spanish winger was brought off in the 75th minute of the match yesterday after a strong collision with Mario Rui, where he hurt his knee.

Pedro remained on the ground for a couple of minutes before coming off and Lazio hope that the injury is not too serious, considering his importance to coach Maurizio Sarri. Tests will be carried out over the coming days and the Biancocelesti will take every precaution to avoid exacerbating the injury.

The 34-year-old Pedro, who is contracted to Lazio until 2023, has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1337 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided three assists.

He has started 13 out of 14 league matches and two out of five Europa League clashes, a hefty amount for the veteran winger.
