Sarri Agrees to Two-Year Contract Extension With Lazio After Meeting With Lotito

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has agreed to extend his contract following a meeting with president Claudio Lotito.

As reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà on Twitter earlier today, the 62-year-old Italian coach had a long meeting with the Biancocelesti president in the last 48 hours and amongst the many topics was his contract renewal.

Sarri has verbally agreed to signing an extension that will tie him to Lazio until 2025, although this could be until 2024 with an option for a one-year extension. His current deal is set to expire in 2023.

During the meeting, the pair also discussed the upcoming January transfer window, next summer’s transfer market objectives and a deep analysis of the painful 4-0 defeat to Napoli on Sunday.

Lotito is fully invested in Sarri’s project and believes that his extension will prove to the squad that the 62-year-old Italian coach is here for the long term, pushing them into investing more fully into his ideas.
