Remembering Former Lazio Spokesman Arturo Diaconale

A year ago today, former Lazio spokesman Arturo Diaconale sadly passed away at the age of 75.

Diaconale joined Lazio in August 2016 as the head of communications. He also worked as the editor of many newspapers including L’Opinione delle libertà and was on the board of directors of Rai.

The Italian journalist was a Lazio fan since childhood and during his presentation press conference, he discussed a match he had seen between the club and Padova in December 1956, which the Biancocelesti won 1-0.

Diaconale died in his home in Rome last year; he had been dealing with an incurable illness for some time and his condition gradually deteriorated. He had previously undergone emergency surgery on his head at the end of April 2020 and the recovery was not easy.

President Claudio Lotito was incredibly upset at Diaconale’s passing, with the pair being close friends, and all those in the Lazio environment expressed their condolences.
