Lazio Coach Sarri Looking to Get Upper Hand on Udinese Coach Gotti

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is looking to get the upper hand on his counterpart Udinese coach Luca Gotti this evening.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 62-year-old Italian coach has faced the Bianconeri coach twice in the past in Serie A. The first meeting was in December 2019 when his Juventus side won 3-1, whilst the second came in July 2020, when Udinese won 2-1.

Sarri and Gotti also have a working history – the pair worked together during the Lazio coach’s time in charge of Chelsea and they won a Europa League together.

Once Sarri moved to Juventus, Gotti decided to accept an offer from Udinese to become their new assistant manager. He replaced Igor Tudor upon his dismissal and did well enough to earn the job on a full-time basis.

Udinese currently sit 14th in the Serie A table after the opening 14 games, sitting on 15 points. They are three points ahead of 18th place relegation candidates Genoa.
