Hellas Verona are interested in making a move for Lazio midfielder Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro in January.
As reported by Italian journalist Nicolò Schira on Twitter yesterday, the Gialloblu are looking for a new midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window and have identified the 29-year-old Ivorian as a strong option.
Akpa Akpro, who is contracted to Lazio 2025, has hardly featured under coach Maurizio Sarri this campaign, losing his spot to other options like Toma Basic and Danilo Cataldi.
Hellas Verona are preparing a loan offer for Akpa Akpro, something that president Claudio Lotito may be open to in order to free up a slot in the squad.
The 29-year-old Ivorian midfielder, who signed for Lazio last year from Salernitana, has made 10 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 334 minutes.
In that time, he has struggled to impress Sarri and now is not considered a key part of the project.
