Lazio Women have won their first match of the season after beating Hellas Verona Women 1-0 yesterday.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 yesterday, coach Massimiliano Catini’s side picked up their first points of the Serie A Femminile season, finally securing a win after losing the first nine matches of the campaign. The Gialloblu have also had a disastrous start to the campaign, losing nine matches and drawing only one.

The match was won by veteran striker Adriana Martin, who scored from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute to secure the three points for the Roman club.

Lazio Women’s next game is against Roma Women next weekend, a key clash as the Biancocelesti look to secure bragging rights over their intercity rivals.

Coach Claudio Lotito is incredibly disappointed with the team’s results so far this season, as he has invested heavily into the Women’s squad and believed in the project of former coach Carolina Morace, who was dismissed after failing to secure a single point in the first five games.
