Lazio Star Immobile Will Undergo Tests on Knee Injury, Risks Missing Next Matches

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile will undergo tests on his knee today or tomorrow after suffering an injury in the win against Sampdoria.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian star suffered the knee injury during the first half of the Biancocelesti’s 3-1 win over Sampdoria last night, asking to be taken off at half time.

Immobile suggested that the knee had twisted a little after a challenge with a Sampdoria player. This could be a simple bump or, in the worst case scenario, a collateral ligament injury.

Losing the 31-year-old Italian star in the run up to Christmas would be disastrous for Lazio and coach Maurizio Sarri, with the player’s importance to the squad obvious.

Immobile will undergo some tests on his knee today or tomorrow in order to evaluate the situation. The club hope it will be positive news, but for now nothing else can be done.
