Lazio Midfielder Zaccagni in High Spirits After Win vs Sampdoria, “Now I Feel Ready”

Lazio midfielder Mattia Zaccagni is feeling good after the important 3-1 win over Sampdoria last night.

Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24) after the game, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder first commented on the team’s approach to the match yesterday.

I felt good. We played great football in the first half and scored the three goals that allowed us to bring the game home.

We had great anger after Thursday and that allowed us to take these three points.

He touched on what answers the Lazio squad showed in the victory over Sampdoria.

Today we needed to give a strong signal and we entered the field with great meanness.

This is what we now have to do in the next few matches as well.

Zaccagni looked ahead to the next match against Galatasaray on Thursday.

On Thursday we want to win.

Now we have to recover energy and prepare for the match in the best possible way.

The former Hellas Verona man touched on his physical condition. He has missed nine games through injury so far this campaign.

Now I feel ready, but you need to work well every training session to reach top form. In Verona I played a completely different game, but I adapted.

I think the coach really plays a beautiful game.

Finally, Zaccagni touched on the team’s mood following the 3-1 win over Sampdoria and how he feels being a part of the squad.

In the locker room we were very happy, apart from Milinkovic-Savic who was a bit angry because of the sending off.

Overall though, we were all satisfied. I feel very good here because they are all good guys.

The 26-year-old Zaccagni, who joined Lazio on transfer deadline day this summer, has made 11 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Biancocelesti, for a total of 509 minutes.

In that time, he has provided three assists and is now slowly settling into coach Maurizio Sarri’s squad.
