Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is tied for most assists contributed in Serie A so far this season.
As highlighted by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 26-year-old Serbian midfielder has provided five assists so far this campaign, making him one of four players to have contributed this much after the opening 16 games of the Serie A season.
The other players who have provided five assists this campaign are Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic, Inter’s Nicolo Barella and Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi, some of the most creative players in the league.
The 26-year-old Milinkovic-Savic, who is contracted to Lazio until 2024, has made 16 Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 1232 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided five assists.
With Ciro Immobile likely to be absent for tomorrow’s match against Galatasaray, coach Maurizio Sarri is hoping that Milinkovic-Savic can step up and be a leader in the decisive Europa League clash.
