Lazio star Ciro Immobile is prepared to lead his team in tonight’s key Europa League match against Galatasaray.
As reported by Italian newspaper Il Tempo (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker is prepared to grit his teeth and push past his knee injury in order to lead the Biancocelesti squad in this evening’s European clash, a game that will decide the winner of Group E.
Immobile suffered a slight knee injury in Lazio’s 3-1 win over Sampdoria on Sunday and has been cautiously training since then.
The 31-year-old Biancocelesti talisman does not want to miss out on the key match against the Turkish side and so its likely that coach Maurizio Sarri will take the risk and start him tonight against Galatasaray.
The winner of tonight’s match will finish top of Group E, directly qualifying them to the Round of 16, whilst the loser will have to face a third-placed Champions League team in a playoff in February.
